About Us

About boys team charity

In the Spring of 2001, two mothers in Phoenix, AZ — with six sons between them — discussed their desire to teach their children the meaning and importance of “giving back” to their community.

After some research, co-founders Anne Czerwinski and Lucia Marusiak realized that there were no organized opportunities for young boys to experience the wonderful gift of sharing their time and talents to help others. For the next year, they worked on the structure and the mission of the organization.

In the Spring of 2002, boys team charity was kicked off with approximately 200 members ready to work.

Word spread, and league after league was created to satisfy the demand of like-minded parents of sons in Arizona.

And then a wonderful thing happened …

A friend of a Cactus League member heard about boys team charity and gathered a group together in the Thousand Oaks area of Southern California and started the Conejo Valley League.

A mother in Northern California discovered btc through a simple web search, and from there, the Pleasanton League, was born. This initiative quickly sparked similar efforts, with the Granite Bay and Lamorinda Leagues following shortly after.

In Colorado, a parent with a friend involved in an Arizona league gathered a group of like-minded individuals and founded the Mile High League in the Denver area.

… and since then, growth has exploded!

As of April 2026, we have 44 leagues!

btc is growing—league by league—as families come together supporting our communities and developing our young men into future leaders.

As our co-founders have always hoped for our members, we strive for ‘Success and Significance.’

The success of btc is not only felt by our members but also by the philanthropies we serve. We believe that through personal growth and shared family experiences, our btc members will make a lasting difference in the lives of others. As parents and sons work side by side, they not only strengthen their own bond, but also cultivate leadership and service that will extend far beyond their families, positively impacting the communities they serve.

This dedication to both personal and collective growth is what makes btc truly transformative.
